Note: Premiere status is not a mandatory requirement for participation.

Selection & General Criteria
UmutDoc selects bold and original documentary films that express an auteur vision of reality through formal and aesthetic approaches.
The festival seeks works with a strong authorial voice and ambitious formal exploration intended for theatrical screening.
All films must have English subtitles.
There are no restrictions regarding age, subject matter, or format.

The festival does not accept
Television reports and journalistic investigations in traditional TV formats.
Corporate and promotional films.
Educational materials.

Required Submission Materials
Applicants must provide the following materials:
Link to an online screener with password (Vimeo, Google Drive, etc.).
Film synopsis (up to 300 words).
Director’s statement (up to 200 words).
Director’s biography and filmography.
Poster or key visual (minimum 300 dpi).
At least 3 high-resolution stills from the film.
Film trailer.
Full technical specifications.

Important Notes for Applicants
Submissions are accepted only from rights holders or their authorized representatives.
The applicant must inform the festival of any changes to the film or public screenings after submission.
All applicants will be notified of the selection results by July 15, 2026.
The official festival program will be announced on August 1, 2026. Until that date, disclosure of selection results to third parties is prohibited.
Once participation is confirmed, a film cannot be withdrawn from the festival program.
